Aerification!!!

We pulled cores on all of the fairways and teeboxes today. We also over seeded the teeboxes and back filled the holes with sand. Please be patient as these will take a few weeks to fully heal. 

We will be aerifying the greens on Monday, May 18th. We will be deep tining the greens 8-10 deep with 1/2" tines and back filling the holes with a sand/peat moss mixture. This process will take the majority of the day so the course will be closed. 

As stated earlier, aerification (also known as aeration) relieves soil compaction, it provides a method to improve the soil mixture around the highest part of a green's roots and it reduces or prevents the accumulation of excess thatch.
